María Lazo-Porras is as researcher at Universidad Científica del Sur. She has a degree in medicine from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, a Master’s degree in Epidemiology from the same institution, and a doctorate degree in Global Health from the University of Geneva, in Switzerland.

 

With 10 years of research experience, María has led different research projects focused on non-communicable chronic diseases, with special focus on hypertension and type-2 diabetes, as well as its complications, such as diabetic foot. In addition, she has vast experience in implementation research, and the use of co-design methodologies with key stakeholders.

In the COLMA project, María is a coinvestigator and leads the co-design component of the intervention.
